2011 Portland Rising Stars Revue

This will be the last revue of the Rising Stars program in 2011. Rising Stars are up-and-coming chefs and culinary professionals who represent the vanguard of the contemporary American dining scene. They are the future of American cuisine. This revue is a walk-around tasting gala featuring the Rising Stars and their signature dishes, desserts, and drinks. Olive Oil from Spain will have display tables where the varietals hojiblanca, picual, arbequina and cornicabra will be able to be tasted.

International Food Blogger Conference 2011

This conference will have 250 food and wine bloggers and writers, as well as host an impressive list of chefs and speakers. It is an ideal venue for Olive Oil from Spain to capture the attention of a much targeted and increasingly influential audience in shaping opinions. Olive Oil from Spain will have tables to promote and offer the products for tasting.

14th Annual International Conference and Festival Worlds of Flavor

This annual three-day forum is widely acknowledged as one of the country's most influential professional forums on world cuisines and trends. During this conference Olive Oil from Spain will highlight Spain's quality oils by participating in various panels and seminars. We will also have a display table with the participating brands for tasting. The conference is expected to attract 700 quality influential journalists, cook book authors, chefs, retailers.

Explore Spain, Rich in Flavor and Heritage
October 7th
Olive Oil from Spain has teamed up with Kendall College in Chicago to host: Explore Spain, Rich in Flavor and Heritage on Friday, October 7th 2011, 6-8 p.m. at the Kendall College of Culinary Arts, 900 N. Branch St., Chicago. This event, which will benefit non-profit Common Threads, is open to the public. The tasting is aimed at showcasing the distinct flavors and uses of Spanish olive oil. It will feature renowned olive oil expert from Spain, Alfonso J. Fernandez, who will lead attendees in an olive oil tasting featuring four Spanish olive varietals: arbequina, hojiblanca, cornicabra and picual. The event will include a presentation, olive oil tasting and a tapas and wine reception.
The event is open to the public with limited seating. To RSVP for the event by Sept. 26, please visit www.commonthreads.org. Tickets are $40 each and all proceeds from the tickets benefit Common Threads, a non-profit organization.

Exclusive events for the press, renowned local chefs and a selection of quality retail stores consisting of a guided tasting followed by dinner. Expert Alfonso Fernández will also conduct a tasting for instructors and students of the prestigious culinary school Kendall College in Chicago.

6th Annual International StarChefs Congress (ICC)

This exciting professional culinary event is a three-day culinary symposium where the world's most influential and innovative chefs present the latest techniques and culinary concepts to their peers. Olive Oil from Spain will have tables in the Spain pavilion promoting the products to the attendees, chefs and sous chefs of New York's best restaurants. Chef Andoni Luis Adúriz will be representing Spain. There will also be an olive oil tasting, showcasing the different varietals, led by the prestigious expert Alfonso Fernández López.

2011 Summer Fancy Food Show
July, 10th-12th
Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC
North America's Largest Specialty Food and Beverage Event features 180,000 products including confections, cheese, coffee, snacks, spices, ethnic, natural, organic and more. 2,500 exhibitors, 81 countries represented and 24,000 attendees. Olive Oil from Spain will have tables in the Spain pavilion and the prestigious olive oil expert Alfonso Fernandez López will give a seminar.

2011 Rising Stars Revue

The Rising Stars Revue is a walk-around tasting gala featuring the Rising Stars and their signature dishes, desserts, and drinks. Olive Oil from Spain a silver sponsor will have display tables where the varietals hojiblanca, picual, arbequina and cornicabra will be displayed and tasted in creations made by rising star chef Kendal Duke of the Chicago Firehouse restaurant. The Revue features an awards ceremony, and a “Best Dish” contest.

Central Market “Passport Spain”
May, 11th-24th
Texas: Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth and Southlake
Central Market, a specialty supermarket chain, will host in its eight Texas stores a promotion of foods and wines from Spain called "Passport Spain". It includes seminars and demonstrations by Spanish star chefs like Paco Roncero, Sergi Arola, Isma Prados and Daniel Olivella; talks by Spanish winemakers, tastings, flamenco classes and concerts. In partnership with Olive Oil from Spain, olive authority Alfonso Fernández will conduct olive oil tastings.
